Dr. Punyamurtula Kishore of Chestnut Hill joined Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce and Seattle Supersonic player Ray Allen at center court of the Fleet-Center before the Nov. 21 home game between the Boston Celtics vs. Seattle Supersonics. Kishore was honored by the Boston Celtics as a local hero as part of the team’s
“Heroes Among Us” program.

Dr. P.S. Kishore, president and founder of the National Library of Addictions in Brookline, was awarded the
D. Elton Trueblood Community Builder Award for his support and devotion to the Fresh Start Recovery Coalition at the Coalition’s annual Friends and Family Thanksgiving event. Kishore was recognized for his commitment to helping the Coalition build healthy communities for people suffering from and/or with alcoholism, drug addiction, HIV/AIDS and physical and/or psychological disabilities.
